Step into a dynamic role as a registered nurse supporting student wellness in an educational community. As a school health professional in this impactful contract position, you'll collaborate closely with school staff to provide exceptional care to students while ensuring a safe, healthy learning environment. The assignment offers over 35 hours per week, with placement in one or two schools based on district needs in the Jacksonville area.

Schedule:

  • Consistent 35+ hours per week
  • Placement at one or two schools (assignment determined by district requirements)

    • Desired Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in good standing; BSN is preferred, ASN accepted
  • School nursing experience valued, though not required
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Sheets
  • Experience with health screenings, IEP management, and staff training
  • Strong communication and record-keeping abilities
  • Genuine passion for child health and school safety
  • Willingness to complete district credentialing requirements (drug screening, fingerprinting)
  • Ability to train and delegate health-related tasks to non-medical personnel

    • Key Responsibilities:

  • Function as the lead nurse for assigned school(s), delivering direct care and ongoing health management
  • Maintain, update, and organize detailed health records; develop and implement individualized student health plans, including IEPs
  • Conduct health screenings and oversee care for chronic conditions among students
  • Educate and empower school staff through health-related training and delegation of specific tasks
  • Serve as a consistent health resource for students, families, and staff to foster a secure and welcoming educational environment
