School Nurse (Multiple Openings – 8 Positions)
Location: Harvey, LA (New Orleans Metro Area)

School Year: August 3, 2026 – May 27, 2027
Schedule: 35 hours per week (7 hours per day plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch)

Our education staffing team is partnering with Jefferson Parish Schools to fill 8 School Nurse openings for the 2026–2027 school year.
Position Overview
School Nurses will serve as the primary healthcare professional for their assigned school(s), supporting student health, safety, and wellness throughout the school year.
Responsibilities may include:
Managing student health needs and medical documentation
Supporting students with tracheostomies, G-tubes, diabetes, and other medical conditions
Conducting health screenings
Participating in IEP meetings and supporting student accommodations
Training and supporting non-medical school staff
Maintaining accurate health records and compliance documentation
Communicating effectively with families, staff, and healthcare providers
Qualifications
Active nursing license required
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) accepted
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Previous school nursing experience preferred, but not required
Preferred Skills & Experience
Familiarity with school health services and nursing best practices
Experience with trachs, G-tubes, diabetic care, and student health plans
Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
Experience training and delegating responsibilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Passion for working with children and supporting student success
Technology Requirements

Candidates should be prepared to discuss school nursing responsibilities, medical procedures they have performed, experience training others, and their interest in working with students.
