Take your nursing expertise into a school setting and make a direct impact on student well-being! Two openings are available for Certified School Nurses (CSN) or CSN students to serve in a dynamic educational environment for the upcoming academic year, supporting either a high school or elementary campus in Romeoville. This engaging role spans from August through May, and offers the unique opportunity to help shape health services in a vibrant learning community.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with Professional Educator License (PEL) endorsement for Certified School Nurse (must have more than just an RN license)
  • Experience in school nursing, preferably as a CSN; open to CSN students nearing completion
  • Strong knowledge and comfort with managing health offices, conducting medical reviews, and participating in IEP/504 processes
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable
  • Proven record of flexibility, dependability, and collaboration; willingness to embrace a team-driven approach
  • Excellent attendance and reliability to maintain continuity of care
  • Responsibilities include:

  • Independently managing the health office, responding to student health needs, and performing routine assessments
  • Completing comprehensive medical reviews
  • Actively collaborating in IEP and 504 meetings to ensure student needs are met
  • Maintaining clear and thorough documentation
  • Partnering with school staff, families, and other professionals to deliver high-quality health services
  • Cultivating a supportive, inclusive health environment
  • Whether working from 7:15 a.m. to 2:25 p.m. in the high school or 8:25 a.m. to 3:40 p.m. in the elementary setting, you’ll play a vital role each day. These are full-time, 37.5-hour per week contract roles for the 2026-2027 school year.
