Schedule/Hours:

  • 12-hour shifts (7A-7P or 7P-7A)
  • Weekend rotation: 5-6 weekend shifts out of 12 (in a 6-week schedule)
  • No on-call required
  • Qualifications/Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg or Tele RN experience
  • Current RN license, BLS required
  • ACLS and national certification (e.g., Medical-Surgical or Nephrology) preferred
  • Basic Cardiac Rhythm (BCR) with EKG competency (must pass exam)
  • Strong clinical skills: IV starts/care, central line management, telemetry, chest tube/trach care, wound care, titration of select drips, and glucommander
  • Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage a patient ratio of 1:4-6 in a busy, high-intensity setting
  • Thorough assessment and implementation of patient care plans, including cardiac telemetry and discharge planning
  • Collaborate with CNAs, unit secretaries, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Use advanced technologies (EPIC, Alaris, Phillips monitors) and adapt to frequent floating to related units
  • Participate in safe and efficient admission/discharge processes
