This contract role specializes in Medical-Surgical Oncology and requires adaptability to float within the Oncology department depending on patient needs. You'll join an accomplished Magnet-designated hospital and have access to advanced treatments, including auto stem cell transplants and chemotherapy administration.

Schedule:

  • Night shifts, 3 x 12-hour (19:00 - 07:30)
  • Every other weekend commitment required
  • Qualifications:

  • Active RN license
  • Minimum 1 year recent oncology experience required
  • First-time travelers are welcome
  • BCLS certification required
  • Chemotherapy certification preferred
  • Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias; must pass Relias EKG exam
  • Willingness to float throughout the Oncology department as needed
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a patient ratio of 4:1 within a 32-bed oncology unit (average daily census: 30 patients)
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing complex treatments, including chemotherapy and stem cell transplants
  • Monitor, interpret, and manage cardiac rhythms
  • Communicate clearly with interdisciplinary teams and advocate for optimal patient outcomes
  • Document patient care using EPIC charting
  • Maintain flexibility to support varying units within the Oncology department
