Travel (RN) Registered Nurse - Oncology | Mountain View, Hawaii

Schedule/Hours:
• Arrive the Thursday before your start date for an employee health appointment on Friday.
Responsibilities:
• Independently administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and various injections according to provider orders.
• Access and maintain port-a-caths, PICCs, and Hickman catheters; perform venipuncture and related dressings.
• Obtain labs from ports and catheters and document all patient care comprehensively.
• Monitor and precisely record all intravenous therapies and patient responses, reporting unusual findings to the Medical Oncologist or Nurse Practitioner and initiating emergency action when necessary.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medications, treatments, side effects, nutrition, and lifestyle adjustments.
• Ensure informed consent is verified prior to administering chemotherapy.
• Handle, administer, and dispose of hazardous drugs safely, using appropriate PPE and following strict protocols.
• Maintain a safe clinical environment in an 18-bay semi-private unit and comply with all relevant policies.
Qualifications:
• Active, unencumbered RN license.
• Prior experience in MS Oncology or infusion nursing required.
• Strong IV, port, and central line access skills.
• Proficient in Epic EMR documentation.
• Detailed knowledge of oncology medication handling and safety protocols.
• Excellent communication and patient education skills.
