Registered Nurse (RN) – School Nurse 

Location: Charlottesville, VA

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide school nursing services for an elementary school in Charlottesville, VA. This is a temporary full-time assignment covering a medical leave from August 11, 2026, through the end of October 2026.

Position Details

Position: Registered Nurse (RN)
Schedule: Full-time, 7.25 hours per day (36.25 hours per week)
Assignment Dates: August 11, 2026 – End of October 2026
Setting: Elementary School
Student Population: Approximately 400 students in grades 3–5

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to students during the school day.
Assess and manage student illnesses and injuries.
Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and school policies.
Maintain accurate health records and documentation.
Collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers to support student health and well-being.
Respond to medical emergencies and promote a safe, healthy school environment.

Qualifications

Active Virginia Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
Current CPR/BLS certification.
Strong clinical assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
Previous pediatric, school nursing, or community health experience is preferred but not required.

Additional Information

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are welcome to apply; however, Registered Nurses (RNs) are preferred for this assignment.
